When take long flights, like my several times-yearly trips to DC, I book a window seat and tend to fall fast asleep for most of the ride. To get the most comfortable sleeping position, I tend to hook my feet into the seat-back pocket of the seat in front of me. This is sort of a weird, brute-force thing to do and is probably destructive towards the airplane. In fact I might be the reason all those airlines are going out of business.

Anyway on a recent VA flight, I had my feet hooked in when I felt a distinctive vibration and thought I had partially ripped the pocket off. When I woke up later and took a closer look, I realized the smarties at VA attached the whole mesh pocket with -- duh -- velcro. I just tucked the pocket edge back and reattached it and boom - problem solved.

Very smart.
